[ Jace taught her how to curtsy, but that was months ago and she hasn't exactly been practicing. Devon gets a mix of half-proper-and-the-rest-is-made-up, skirt dangerously riding up the lower she goes, and then she steps into their... date spot? She wonders if her other feline friend is around. ]

[He's immediately curious, peering around. It's still kind of weird to step into a bodega after a hardwood hallway but... he's not looking gift stores in the mouth. He's instead grabbing a little wire basket from by the cash, and putting it over one arm like Little Red's basket.]

... What does her majesty wanna eat tonight? I want a chili dog. Think they have anything premade?

Yeah! It shows up sometimes. We thought it was a bunch of different ones at first, but I think it's just some shape-shifter cat instead. Or there's some tiny door and we've got a colony of cats that've all agreed to take turns, who knows.

[ A light shrug for a silly thought. She walks around aimlessly, peers at the shelves. ]

They should have some stuff! I don't know about a chili dog, though. Teddie usually brings over snacks to store for a while. [ As for the previous question, ] I want... chocolate cake.

[He wants a damn chili dog, and goes sniffing around to see what they do have - not finding anything but some warm Jamaican patties in a heated case. It's weird in the sense that it feels like someone was just around and yet the place is vacant. He grabs a few, notably the spicy ones, and then deposits on the counter (for now) and goes hunting other things.

His head pops back around an aisle, when he holds out a package of Hostess Cupcakes.]

Are these close enough? To cake, not chili dogs.

You know what they should have here? A boba shop.

Oh, shit, that'd be nice. Or ramen. They have anything ramen here?

[Ugh, now he wants boba and ramen. He picks up a styrofoam cup of noodles to make do.]

I like that we just collectively accept these rooms. Weird space trips inside a bigger house. Nothing weird about that at all.

Right? Raíz should totally start giving us some of these back home. The house's already huge, but ... it's also so normal. Imagine if we also had a door that just led to a beach!

Got any in mind? Selection's pretty limited, since they're lacking like, 20 years' worth of movies we have back home.

Do you feel anything when someone touches them or- anything?

Anything, pretty much? As long as it's all physical. So like, I can make something that looks just like a TV, but my shadows can't make any of the stuff that makes it actually work like a TV. Or even like one of those flashlights I used to carry around - I can make the whole thing, but not the parts that produce light. And so on and so on.

[ But yes, shadow dildo. ]

Nope, I don't. I've used them enough to be pretty aware of what they're doing and how they're interacting with stuff, but... if you break one, it's not gonna hurt me. Unless you break it while I'm inside it, anyway.

They're not alive or anything. They can't move on their own unless I make them. It's a bit like I'm ordering them in my head, or just putting down some telepathic-programming so they do what I need them to. Easier to command a bunch at once that way.
