[ are you having a peaceful evening? are you enjoying the sights and sounds of saltburnt? well, congratulations on finding a new companion tonight: this dog, with glowing hell eyes and fire collar and a stinky sulfuric perfume wafting along with her. if you step away from her, she will follow. if you move towards her, she will step back. just a little dance-y dance for about a few minutes before she decides she's had enough and leaves.
she knows you now. time to report back to her human. ]

[Closer to Christmas, beneath their little tree (and whatever other heap of decorations they amass) a few little presents appear one by one; wrapped in brown paper and tied with twine or red velvet ribbon, they're addressed to Cellar in Theo's too-practiced script. On Christmas eve a larger box appears as well, matching the aesthetic and adding to the drama.
Box one: short and stout with a dark red velvet ribbon, gold stars printed on the paper. 'For you, babe' on the card. It contains: lipstick and a powder palette, a charmed bracelet - a stroke of her thumb across the band sends a pulse to the silver band on his ring finger, explained to be in case of emergencies.
Box two: square, filled with tissue paper once the lid lifts off, with an emerald green bow sitting on top. Inside is a hand sculpted tea light holder and fancy chocolates. A small note in the tealight simply says 'Us'.
Box three: wide and flat with a shiny gold ribbon on brown kraft paper, speckled with little gold spider-shapes. 'For looks'. It contains: A cardigan sweater and socks, as well as a piece of tooth jewelery. Again, charmed - this time a mild protective spell. No chipping any teeth on his watch.
Box four: large, the last added and with a note that reads 'merry christmas, - teddie' in the same script as always. It contains: a pretty single-serving size cakette styled after a painting that they 100% discussed in bed, with Theo rambling on about it with stars in his eyes and her reflecting those stars simply due to the passion in which he did speak.]
[ Dawn isn't entirely sure what kind of gifts Cellar would actually like for Christmas, so this is all a bit of a gamble, but... oh well! Better that than neglect, she figures— or, well, she hopes, anyway.
She drops off a little basket by her door on Christmas Eve, containing a small wrapped parcel with about half a dozen nativity-shaped gingerbread cookies, some local goods she probably picked up at the marketplace (such as a marbled block of soap made with rose and lemon peel, a vanilla and toffee-scented candle, and a little wheel of goat cheese), and a chunky, hand-knitted pom-pom beanie. A sparkly card dangles off a red ribbon tied to the basket, bordered with silver, gold, and pink glitter around words written in pink gel-pen:

Merry Christmas, Cellie! ☺︎(Complete with a miniature candy-cane taped to the bottom of the card.) ]

[ one night a gift bag shows up outside cellar's room, left at the door without announcement from nick.
inside is a handmade bracelent — a little clumsy in spots where the maker might not have been quite as talented as he had hoped! there is also a note tucked in there alongside the bracelet — ]
Cellar,
Thanks for being a fucking excellent soul, I know this whole situation is really weird but I'm really glad I met you.
Have a good holiday ♡

or am i 25.
ugh.

[Left outside her door, in a sparkly holo gift bag, is a portrait of her in this style. And a bunch of candy canes. Pink ones.]
[whether she's around to see it or not, two small gifts with black wrapping paper and red ribbons appear in her room with a letter attached. the envelope has "C.S" on the front in simple cursive.
inside one of the gifts is a lace and leather blindfold. in the other is a silver spider earcuff with a quartz crystal embedded into its body.
her letter reads:
𝖢𝖾𝗅𝗅𝖺𝗋,
𝖳𝗁𝖾 𝗌𝗉𝗂𝖽𝖾𝗋 𝗂𝗌 𝖾𝗇𝖼𝗁𝖺𝗇𝗍𝖾𝖽. 𝖨𝖿 𝗒𝗈𝗎'𝗋𝖾 𝖾𝗏𝖾𝗋 𝗂𝗇 𝖺 𝗉𝗅𝖺𝖼𝖾 𝗐𝗂𝗍𝗁𝗈𝗎𝗍 𝗅𝗂𝗀𝗁𝗍, 𝗂𝗍 𝗐𝗈𝗇'𝗍 𝖿𝖺𝗂𝗅 𝗒𝗈𝗎. 𝖳𝗋𝗒 𝖺𝗇𝖽 𝗈𝗇𝗅𝗒 𝗎𝗌𝖾 𝗂𝗍 𝖿𝗈𝗋 𝖾𝗆𝖾𝗋𝗀𝖾𝗇𝖼𝗂𝖾𝗌.
- 𝖠𝗎𝗀𝗎𝗌𝗍

when she picks it up for the first time, the spider's stone will flash violently with a white light, as if it's giving an example of what it can do. she'll see spots for a minute or so. ]

[ sometime during the holiday season, wrapped in red and gold paper, tidily and well done because grace enlisted some of the staff to help her, a gift is left on cellar's bed. ]

I have a confession to make. I've been avoiding you for like a week because I've been like
in withdrawal. and a total dick.
